Has Nigel Won Again?

Protesters at a gate under cloudy skies hold a banner reading BARNHAM SAYS NO, with overlay text HAS NIGEL WON AGAIN?

The UK Home Office is reportedly in discussions that could lead to abandoning proposals to house up to 1,200 asylum seekers at the former RAF Barnham site in Suffolk.

On July 21, 2026, the Home Office department requested a meeting with Reform UK representatives within weeks, crediting local campaigners with new police crime commissioner Colin Sutton and including Dee Hilton, David Bick and Tom Dickerson for their efforts. The small village of around 585 residents has strongly resisted the plan, citing inadequate infrastructure and community impact.
